NUCLEAR AND RADIOLOGICAL DEFENSE PLANNER


Location : DHS Headquarters, D.C. Clearance : In scope TS/SCI
Education Required : Bachelor's Degree

Years of Relevent Experience : The position requires ten years experience in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, & Nuclear (CBRN) Defense and/or Explosive Ordnance Disposal with at least three years experience working with special weapons.

Required Skills : Seeking highly motivated individuals with excellent quantitative and analytical skills for senior positions supporting the Current Operations Directorate at the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters. Positions require an organized, detail-oriented individual with familiarity of SWOPs a must. Must have good communication skills and be fluent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must be a U.S. citizen with a current, in scope TS/SCI. Experience working with high-level government officials (e.g. Senior SES and General Officers) desired.

Responsibilities : Individual will directly support the Combating WMD Branch Head in Current Operations, Operations Coordination Directorate. Individual will be responsible for homeland defense planning, which will include: operations planning, consequence management analysis, and special weapons construct and characteristics. Individual will be primarily responsible for response planning to a nuclear/radiological incident and/or release. Familiarity with SWOPs and other SW publications a must. Articulate and effective written and oral communication skills a must.
